Way to prove women are just as capable as men by literally forcing companies to hire them.

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Most of the qualified women are already on board. So they will have to promote past ability and qualifications.

This will lead to numerous articles about imposter syndrome.

Yeah dont worry about this. Companies will move state before they shoot themselves in the foot.

[–]Arthuyo 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's easier said than done

[–]Hirudin 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

... and then the people who work in those companies will move with them, and they'll vote for the same damn policies in whatever state they move to, bringing those same problems with them.

So if I start a business with a group of friends, I don't have control of my own business because of gender? That's supposed to be progressive?

No one would fault a group of women for starting their own business, and no one should- that's their own business.

Only if you take it public, so don't do that

Just picturing a few of the male board members start identifying as women.

Findings indicate that forcing women into leadership positions harms corporate performance.

What we need to do is fix the safety nets for men, the so-called glass floor that so many men fall though. Men have a greater incentive to succeed because failure for a man looks a whole lot worse than failure for a woman does. That's the real reason there are more men in these positions. Fix the underlying problems that lead to this: the rampant bigotry and discrimination that puts men at a greater risk for things like homelessness and starvation, and they would have less an incentive to fight their way to the top. And that would naturally free up positions for women to occupy. Forcing women into these positions without first fixing the problems that plague men at the bottom of society will only harm men more.

So companies will be forced to hire/promote unqualified women. When those women get told that that are incorrect about an issue due to lack of knowledge/experience/qualifications, they'll make accusations of harassment, hostile workplaces, and "mansplaining". The company will drop in productivity and die.

Yep. Sounds great. Nothing could go wrong here.

So these companies that have full board members should do what? Fire someone based on their gender to make room for the compulsory vagina? Thereby opening themselves up for a discrimination suit? Or create a spurious position just for the token women to fill?

As it is Cali, can a man just identify as a woman and that would count?

Please note, most companies are "headquartered" in Nevada or Delaware

Congratuations Bob, to meet our quota for the next 6 months you'll be Karen.

California- The land of new laws (created by democrats)

[–]notacrackheadofficer 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They're cheering right now at /r/California as we speak about the governor signing 1200 new laws in 2019. Terrifying

[–]nocivo 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And With a majority they can’t solve their huge problems like homeless and traffic.

[–]Mens_rights_matter2 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Isn’t he related to Pelosi? Its funny how these politicians believe their job is to create new laws.

[–]whitetrshsoldier 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This law will never fly in the US Legal system. It'll be appealed (and rightly so) shortly

[–]GmanTEM02 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ironic, considering California a while back passed proposition 209, which made discrimination in all public places, including affirmative action, illegal.

Get out of california while you still can

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Companies are gonna leave that shithole of a state

[–]rahsoft 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

great .. so the the women forced into the roles will know that it was the gender( complete with lack of ability) and not by merit.

That will undermine confidence in them and the company goes down the tube.

Then the blame will laid at the feet of someone other than the person promoted for the wrong reasons.

[–]pn1159 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't believe this would be legal in california.

[–]omega_kush 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just pay the fines...dont let them force feed this bs...then vote them all out

[–]bobblehead69 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The diversity hire will literally just get paid to exist and will create resentment.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good. The companies will move to the Red States, and California will go broke.

[–]lostapwbm 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
