I've tried making this argument before. A lot of people, men and women both, try to defend this stereotype though.

Women defend it because they can claim superiority over men, and use it to justify their own motives and failures.

Men can also use it to justify their failures with women though. "I still had sex with her so that's all that matters". No, you wanted more, and now you're spreading a negative stereotype about men to cope with your rejection.

I think a lot of men also spread this myth because it lowers the bar of what's considered "successful" with women, and men are often judged on this category. Getting with a lot of different women on a superficial level is easier than finding and keeping one who makes you happy.

Even if men did only want one thing (pussy), women want about 20 things from us in exchange for that one thing.

Probably the greatest argument to disprove the myth that “men only want one thing” is the fact that even in this day and age, men are overwhelmingly the ones that propose marriage.

How many men have been strongly hinted at, or outright told, that the woman expects him to propose if their relationship is to continue?

I've been pointing this out for a while and every-time I mention it to a lady they find a way of brushing it off. We're shamed constantly for "not seeing it from the women's perspective" but NOBODY cares to look at anything from our perspective because they've already formed their stereotypes and opinions and it's uncomfortable to realize you might be wrong.

Anyone can claim anything. I can claim that women only want one thing as well, which is to have babies. They don't care about their partner. And I'd argue that there are solid evidence to support this claim. See what I did there? I said a half-truth and used it to make you at least consider my crazy point of view. Half-truths are dangerous. And the left wing are using this method to break the bond between men and women.
