International men’s day will be celebrated after one month. What are the reasons, significance, need to celebrate men’s day and how to make it more popular this year? Please share if anyone has good blogs for same.

Never cared about the day. Just like I don't care for international women's day.

Just a personal preference to not celebrate anything just because your one gender or the other.

Our men’s day family BBQ got so popular we almost had to cancel last year cause the feminist collective was threatening to storm it and the park management wanted us to pay for security. Luckily a few off duty police officers provided their services for free.

The feminist collective did show up but left after half an hour. I think they were expecting a Nazi rally when all they found was a few single dads and their kids eating hamburgers at a park.

It is supposed to be a day for discussion of mens health issues if im not mistaken, but I just use it as an excuse to reach out to all of my brothers and tell them how awesome they are. This time we are going to magic castle the night before so perhaps I'll try and spin it as the occasion.

I promote it a bit more nowadays, since most people don't know it exists (which includes the UN, apparently). It's important, especially nowadays. Most aren't aware of the problems men face on a daily basis.

I use that week to get people thinking about the men they love and having them tell me about them.

It worked really well last year in our first year doing it. We created post card sized pages with a basic instruction on them, and gave them to people in various forms.

We had over 200 completed over the week and a lot of people thanked us for it.
