In many states you could still be liable for child support as the law assumes the child is yours unless proven otherwise, and the state just wants to find someone to put on the hook for support without really caring who. You need to compel a paternity test to prove otherwise.

Be very careful. My state actually wont let a pregnant woman get divorced. The state wants the ability to put the father's name on the birth certificate without his consent of necessary. And the 6 months it takes to prove the kids isn't yours? You are paying child support that entire time.

Don't accept paternity. Make sure the hospital forms and birth certificate don't list you as the father. Make sure you don't pay the hospital bill either.
