Uhm, yeah. Always has been.

Ok, so knowing that, they attempt to see if people imagine in their head the person having some traits or others which may make him or her less or more worthy of sympathy based on gender and their results were inconclusive,

But not if they cared more, simply on the basis of the gender distinction. Someone should do such a study on gynocentrism.

Isn't this such a study ?

[–]ReasonVision 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, no. As said in the comment, it's a study on gender based trait association, unless you can find something to state otherwise, I only read the abstract.

Look how much hate speech is totally accepted if it's directed at men:
"kill all men"

"mansplaining"

"fragile male"

Feminists and members of the Woke Mind Police are supposedly super enlightened and therefore don't stereotype people, but they constantly use terms like this. Imagine if you flipped these terms around:

"kill all women"

"womansplaining"

"fragile female"

There would be outrage. But if it's directed at men, it's accepted.

That's interesting, thanks for sharing!

I think the reason behind judging discrimination of women more harshly, and seeing disadvantadging men in favour of women morally good, comes from the opinion that women are generally more disadvantadged throughout life than men and people are more sympathetic of them.

I realise no one here will agree with this, and we can start fighting back and forth 'who has it worse', but one is indisputable. Women will always have it worse because of their biological predisposition to bear children which makes them disadvantadged even if they decide not to reproduce.

In my opinion everyone should treat others equally, no matter the gender, and I believe the way to make that more likely to happen is to stop blaming 'the other gender'. Instead, we should be united as humans. I do see both misoginy and misandry everywhere I go, and it leads only to destructive hatred. That's pointless.

We should all start openly talking about our feelings/emotions with the opposite sex, but there's some invisible barrier that stops us from doing it, therefore we (men, women and others) don't realise or understand struggles which come with all genders.

The most effective way to damage someone long term with the least direct effort is ruining someone's reputation by slander or libel. Yes, words can absolutely hurt.

In the end of summary there is assumption about factors according to which people can show such a bias. It says:

For example, respondents may have assumed that a manager who discriminates against women may have bad intentions (e.g., sexism) whereas a manager who discriminates against men may have good intentions (e.g., increasing gender equality)."

That's all that we need to know. Discrimination against men "may have good intentions", and it's somehow can relate to "increasing gender equality".

So discrimination leads to equality, if it aimed in right direction. I got it...
