“The mothers sentence was reduce on appeal, from 190 years in prison, down to 36 days with 6 months good behaviour. With time served to count towards her new sentence, meaning she’ll be released yesterday.”

Edit: oh, and was given full custody of the child upon being released.

190 years? The courts have lost perspective. Yes, the mothers actions sound horrific. Does she deserve to be sentenced for longer than people who murder others? I’d say that seems like a whole different level of crime.
