The issue for women is not to find someone willing to have sex with you, as is the case for men. Your issue is finding someone willing to marry you. Them being your "one night stand" or "boy friend" means nothing. Obviously you know this, as all women do. But it is another thing to apply it to yourself.

He doesn’t want to marry you. If he did he’d have given at least more assurance. Most guys under 30 don’t want to be married, unless you are special in their eyes. Then all rules are broken. Don’t take it personally though, some things are just not meant to be. Better not to waste much more time and move on

Full text: My boyfriend (28M) and I (25F) have been dating for over a year but I feel like our relationship has not progressed in the timeframe I would have hoped for.

When we initially started dating, he told me he would be ready for marriage after a year of dating. I want to get married, and thought this was a green flag that he was ready for a committed relationship. However, we have been dating for a year and doesn’t want to talk about the future at all, let alone marriage. We haven’t made or spoken of any plans.

Additionally, neither of us have confessed that we love each other yet. I have been waiting for him to initiate this conversation as I want him to progress this aspect of our relationship. However I think a difficult childhood may be inhibiting him from having this conversation at all unless I take the lead. However I feel like I need to hear this from him first.

Just looking for advice please 😔
