If all tourists protect themselves at the same rate, then they can't make female tourists safer than the male ones.

This is blatantly working to make sure men face more risk so that women might face less.

The thing is, male criminals are more likely to target men. Also, you're in England. The same place that has posters like "staring is sexual harassment", and "violence starts with words" (with a man looking at a mirror) in the London train stations. Also, it's the same place that has debated placing curfews on men a few times in the past.

I know you're joking around and being sarcastic, but thieves who've been interviewed have said that they do in fact feel more guilty robbing women than they do robbing men. Thus, if anything, men need the warning more, since they're not the beneficiaries of criminals' selective empathy.

I kid of course, this is not an issue of professional incompetence, because the idea of a woman as a cop is fucking hilarious from the get-go. It's like a TV show where we all have to suspend our disbelief and just pretend that a woman can fight so we can get to the next scene.
