I don't know anyone who's gotten a divorce in Chicago and my only network here are my wife's friends and family. I know this relationship is over (my wife is a covert narcissist and an alcoholic) but I'm very worried that if I don't set myself up the right way, she'll try to make this process as painful as possible.

I'm trying to get myself into an action state and initiate this thing but have no idea where to begin in finding an attorney. My assumption is that they will have a lot of the answers to my long list of questions/worries but any Google search including "divorce" returns thousands of seemingly sketchy or sponsored resources that don't yield any fruit.

Is there anyone from the Chicago area with recommendations on specific attorneys/firms they've had or heard of good experiences with? Are there any resources people would recommend to find an attorney? Lastly, are there any hot tips on what to actually look for in an attorney when it comes time to make a decision?

TL;DR I live in Chicago and need help finding a reliable, experienced and reasonably priced divorce attorney. I don't have anyone here to ask and am essentially alone in this process.
