I’m just tired of hearing it. Women and men generally have vastly different problems, and while women’s problems might often involve their feeling of direct safety, it doesn’t mean at all that men have it easy. As such, I’d like to vent about examples I’ve seen (and lived) of men not having it easy. Feel free to add.

It wasn’t easy for me when I got evicted from my first apartment and had to move back in with my parents. It wasn’t easy for me when my parents got divorced and both suffered emotionally difficult times. It wasn’t easy for me when I got laid off from my previous job. It wasn’t easy for me when my closest friend moved across the country and I began to feel alone for the first time in my adult life.

It wasn’t easy for a man I know when his wife passed away suddenly. It wasn’t easy for a man I know when he nearly lost his life due to an injury. It wasn’t easy for a man I knew who did during his military service that haunted him until he died. It wasn’t easy for a man I know who lost his father. It wasn’t easy for a man I know whose wife belittled and lied about him and served him papers. It wasn’t easy for a man I know when the woman he thought he’d marry cheated on him.

Again, it’s possible for both women and men to face hardships, why does it always have to be about who has it worse? And why do they insist women have it worse?
