I guess I'm just hoping for a bit of reassurance. I just read a guy on another reddit say that he and his wife split, but because they were double-income no-children, it was pretty easy and painless.

My wife and I are likely going to split, however, we don't have kids (either together or separately), we both work, and we don't have joint accounts and that kind of stuff.

The house we currently live in was bought by me, all in my name, and I pay all the bills for it (wife pays for food). We don't live in the USA (so hopefully that's a plus if you're divorcing!), I have read a little bit about how it works here, and it seems that if it comes to it and you can't agree between yourselves, a judge or someone decides "what's fair". I suppose if I have to sell the house then I'll have to do that, it's too big a place for just one person anyway.

My wife has previously been physically abusive, but she went to a psyche and got medicated, and is actually better now. We're just not really compatible anymore. Usual story - she's selfish and abusive AF, but blames me. I give up trying to engage with her, etc etc.

My experience of divorces has been my parents, and a friend of mine, and it was fairly messy both times, but both times the mess seemed to be almost entirely because kids were involved.
