I was just wondering if anyone has been able to increase their custody time with their kids. I am all alone where I live without any family. She has her mom and is a teacher so she has the 3 kids. Most of the time. I work evening shift so I can only take the kids on my days off. Which translates to Fri-Sun every other weekend plus 2 after school days every other week. Comes out to like 30/70 split.

I find out that my career has a position that I can get promoted to that will allow me to work from home. This would be a game changer. My divorce finalized in April. My question is that if I got this promotion, and suddenly I am available to take the kids 50/50 now… what would I need to do to make this happen? Is it even possible? Would a court allow for a change like this to happen if one parent now has a job that allows them to help parent the children more? Could she fight it?

I love my kids and want them more in my life. She is a horrible mother. Her place is always trashed. She is lazy. She never does anything with them. Not only that, I am paying her $1,109 a month in child support right now. That number would go down to like $200 a month if we were 50/50. And she would most likely go bankrupt and lose her house if she lost her welfare check from me.

Is a spouse changing jobs enough reason for a court to be able to petition a revision to child custody times and child support calculation?
