I've been moved out of home for just over three weeks now. While I definitely needed to leave, mostly cause of my mom, I'm not sure if college was the right decision.

I've been a "bad" student ever since the days of homework, circa 9th grade. I'll do whatever you want me to in the classroom, but in my free time? Yeah that shit is not getting done. My classes are easy as fuck and I'm still behind. I don't even care about getting a degree, probably won't use it anyways. I just have a college fund, and felt pressured to use it.

I have big ambitions for life, I thought moving out would be like this start of some big adventure. But now I just feel broke, lonely, and hopeless. I don't know how I'm going to get an "adult" job next semester if I decide to drop out.

Speaking of lonely, making friends has been hard. I've always been good at making friends, but I've had such a hard time finding really like-minded people here. I moved to a very religious, somewhat-rural town, and the majority of people here feel like they are pumped out of a factory. Just very fake and boring people. Don't get me wrong, I've made some friends, but it takes a lot more effort.

I haven't dated anyone in over two years, and I've spent about a year and a half seriously working on myself to get back into dating. I thought college would make things easier, but so far I've just been rejected by the few like-minded girls I've tried to ask out. I know I'm not supposed to depend on a relationship for happiness, but the loneliness is getting to me.

I feel like I'm in the wrong place, but I'm not sure if leaving will make things better or worse. I can't go back home, but maybe I'll try moving to the big city? I'm just worried about it being even harder to make friends and meet girls if I'm not in school.

So, what should I do? Should I stay? Should I line up a job in the big city and move out after the semester? If I do that, how do I meet guys and girls out there so I don't get lonely?
