The title is exactly what I'd like to tell my family sometimes. Mainly, that they'll never see Grandkids. I think on some level, they know already. That, growing up in the 90s, really hurts to open my eyes to.
But what else could I do? The reaffirmation that as a male, that I am undesirable or worthless to a woman is vast. I do live for myself and I'm doing well without dating or romantic relationships. But it's more than only human to have regrets about legacy.
20 years ago I would have still been doe-eyed and full of warmth at the concept of affection and love. 20 years today, my dreams occasionally haunt the truths of how much danger I would be in to pursue something like that.
Sure, if the tides of the job economy turn, I might be able to adopt. But even so, I feel like it would be something intrinsically wrong for the kid to just have one parent. It's just a bad feeling in my gut I have about it. Besides, the job economy doesn't want me either.
I would have liked it to have turned out differently. Really, I would have. But I can only hope that however it goes, that my folks will be ok with it in the end and I can just go on how I am.
Lonely uncles club, here I come, eh.
