Women physically abusing men is being normalized on social media. TikTok is the worst offender. Here's a few clips from the many I found. I had to stop watching because it was too depressing

I've noticed this for years. I started noticing in Dragon Ball Z. When Bulma kept hitting Goku for non-reasons like forgetting to buy her something.

It's literally all over media, not just social media.

And especially women hitting their spouse or boyfriend.

The moment a man does it though it's "abusive" and "violence".

And there are plenty other similar double standards.

A woman tells man to sleep on the couch - clearly he did something wrong

A man tells a woman to sleep on the couch - he is controling, find yourself a man who respects you

A woman doesn't want sex - keep it in your pants, control yourself

A man doesn't want sex - girl, find yourself someone who treats you right and satisfies your needs and gives you what you deserve queen

A more interesting scenario for me was the Smith/Rock slapping at the Oscars. The numbers of women who, in response, seem to believe a woman's upset feelings warrant somebody else doing violence on her behalf was actually quite horrifying.

We are not that far removed from a time when blokes would duel it out with sabres or pistols because some woman reached for the smelling salts.

At a primitive level it seems to be similar in the consideration on the one hand, perhaps hypocritically, that women have and should have the same rights and duties as men, but on the other hand, a proportionally inverse response is understood as the worst crime. That is, it is a dichotomy between women sharing, as stated, the same rights and duties, but on the other hand, it is hypocritically considered that women are inferior and that men should equally bear the blows but not play the game of whack-a-mole, as if women were a kitten that scratches us and that we must therefore condescend to the self-imposed inferiority - for what they want - of being equal and inferior in equal parts.

Much of this audiovisual content is clearly over-staged, but it clearly shows, quite elementary hypocrisy: that treatment is not equal, and that responsibilities are not equal, and that maturity is not expected proportionally, because at base, "what should be masculine" and "what should be feminine" are expected.

It's not that it's "being normalized" it's that it's been normal for thousands of years.

I'm going to get downvoted, but I'm going to say most of what is in that video is just playful, except for the last one. I have engaged with some of that behavior (and visa versa) with my wife and children. I play punch my daughter and she play punches me ALL THE TIME. (for some reason, my son's not as much into it). Neither of us is mad at the other, she's typically giggling when it happens. I'll say something derogatory about K-POP bands and she'll smack me for it. It doesn't hurt, it's not meant to hurt and I'll be sad the day she grows out of it.

My daughter isn't very physically affectionate with me (not like she is with her mother), and some of this roughhouse play is more often than not the only physical contact I have with her. I love it and I would hate to give it up because of some pearl clutching about something THAT IS NOT ABUSE.

It's not the same as having an unhinged wife throwing objects at your head and screaming at you. It's not the same as coming home and having your wife berate you until bedtime. It's not the same as having a wife shame you in front of friends and family. Let's stick to trying to address actual abuse.
