Daily meditation has unquestionably made me stronger and better as a person. I'm interested in kindness in the sense of what the dalai lama practices and advocates, but I'm currently in recovery from being a niceguy, and am curious to see what kind of advice I might be able to get on not confusing true kindness from the buddhist philosophy with being a pushover, seeking approval, or being too nice. What are some opinions or thoughts on this? Is it a good thing to pursue at all? What are some examples of scenarios where these two things can be discerned or confused?
