I have two retirement accounts that will need to be split between me and my ex-wife. Due to continued contributions and vesting, these are more complicated to estimate. Whose lawyer normally reaches out to the company to get this information? My lawyer mentioned that my ex-wife's lawyer was reaching out to them. This doesn't seem to be in my best interest, but maybe it is typical. Thoughts and experience?
