Have you spoken to someone in the real world about men’s rights today? How did that conversation go?

With most in-depth conversations I have in real life, I’m preaching to the choir.

One way I bring up men’s rights more subtly is to question or set straight expressed notions based on a false premise.

For example when women say they have to worry more about their safety more than men, I’ll ask them why given men are victims of violent crime at least as much as women, far more likely to get injured or killed on the job etc.

In a recent discussion, a friend stated how women only recently were able to vote. I pointed out the 19th amendment was passed over 100 years ago and that women in fact voted before that, back in colonial America in fact.

What I find productive and reasonably well received is to not go into unsolicited speeches about men’s rights, but rather just slowly increase awareness when an opportunity presents itself.

Related, I think before discussing actual men’s rights issues, it’s often helpful to first address the myth of female oppression.

My roommate and I've discussed it a few times.

I have old friends who are dealing with false accusations and I am attempting to deal with it in a documentary. That's all I feel comfortable sharing presently.

My female doctor told me to prepare for bias when i had problems. I was applying to disability allowance and she said a young male with back problems will be seen as a scammer etc.

She wasn't wrong. Healthsci is packed with some of the most vile white women.

Other than that a feminist biology lecturer sneered at me when i mentioned male victims of DV. She also was a typical bipolar type feminist, sneered at everyone who had different views, called her husband a shithead in a lecture, cursed all the time, shouted about the patriarchy. You get the ooint. Which feminists always do.

Whenever I attempt anything like that, or even attributed to Men's Growth and Wellbeing, it doesn't go well. When men by themselves want to grow a certain way, how they're supposed to be. Dangerous, tactful but straightforward, lifting those below them up and letting those who are above them know they can be dragged down at any time. This is deemed as "toxic". They want us to grow to be "better", but only what they want us to be. I've noticed this a lot now lately in the modern era of women. There are still some amazing women out there, but they aren't as common as I'm sure we'd want them to be.

I mentioned it to a feminist and she just laughed at me. There is virtually zero exposure to it in the media and in the University.

A lady friend of mine posted something about toxic groups like ''while lives matter'' and other provocative groups and listed men's right as one. I mentioned that all the group she posted about was toxic except mens right, a few people got upset and said it was about bashing females, since his coworker is always bashing them, I said this has nothing to do with woman or womans rights at all. I'd like to think so anyways. There's always going to me someone who's angry and take it out of women, or people coming here to start shit, but I don't think this is what we are about. At least, hope it doesn't get there.

Like that post about shitting on Taylor Swifts a few weeks ago for some reason I don't care about, I cannot see my kids because the law is unfair and many other men are in the same situation as me, this is why men's right is important. Not shitting on others.

yes. when the subjects related to mens issues comes out i usually express my opinions (given that the people I talk to do not seem braindead). it usually goes well and people agree. my advice : do not blame anyone, point out the facts, socratic method is your friend

Tried talking to my gf about men's issues. This was after me saying feminism isn't about being equal. I first brought up that the majority of college grads are women. she responded with well once everything else starts getting better for women we can care about that. Its now a subject we don't talk about (Feminism and MRA)
