Went out last week with a friend to a local bar. We are new to the area. I wasn't focused on the outcome of getting a number or closing that night. The only goal I had was to be open and meet new people.

So we got to the bar and b-lined straight to the pool table. The crowd was a nice mix of 20s-30s. No dimes, no jaw droppers. Just average and some above average looking women. After a few games of pool we made our way over to the bar for some drinks and that is when we were approached by a lively 40something woman who was there with her friends and her husband. We talked with her and she was visibly flirtatious with both of us. Her husband was definitely an alpha male and an all around cool dude who we were joking with as well. He didn't seem phased by his wife's flirtatious actions with us. After talking for a while his wife then made herself our honorary wing-woman and started pulling over randoms to talk to us about the area and what are some cool things to do for people our age (not hers).

The older woman pulled over one 6.5 who I chatted with for about an hour. I initiated kino with the 6.5. Not sure if there were an IOIs, I'm still working on picking up on those. We were laughing and joking around.

While talking with the 6.5 the older lady brought over two 8.5/9s and said that us guys could meet chicks like these and I said, "Where... in Chicago?" The 9s were upset. Either I didn't have enough of a devilish grin with my neg or they were just overall not interested, but the 6.5 laughed and more kino took place.

Me and the 6.5 talked about how we both liked this TV show New Girl. She said she loves that show and wishes she could sing. When she started singing I said, "yeah, you might be quirky like Jess and have a cute face but you definitely should never sing in public." She laughed, more kino.

While talking with the 6.5 a morbidly obese 2 came up and started chatting me up because she saw that my friend and I were validated by other women talking with us. The 2 came up to me and started talking to me. I was disinterested but polite to her while positioning my body more towards the 6.5. The 2 grabbed my face half way through our conversation and strongly made another implied suggestion to come outside for a smoke and which I declined for a third time.

The 6.5 saw the strong come-on from the 2 and she then got quiet. Perhaps things got awkward. She proceeded to end the conversation saying, "maybe we'll see each other again (at this bar she was mentioning)" and then said, "I gotta go check in with my boyfriend now." I said, "oh, you have a boyfriend." 6.5 said, "yeah... but we've only been dating for 3 weeks."

She left after that. I left shortly after.

Okay so, what did I do wrong?
