Any tips for the grey area? I had recently a fun 4hr long date with a girl but I was hesitant to make a move because she almost never responded to my touches (she never evaded them tho and seemed to enjoy the time with me).

Try to carry no expectations. When I meet girls, i think "would i"... it's habitual and shallow but if I know I would then the balls in her court. If I know I wouldn't, there isn't much difference in how I approach. It's still the same dynamic of meeting someone new and getting them to talk more personally with me.

I also think.."what makes me shy?" It's a very, very, mild form of PTSD, and sometimes it makes it harder to actually approach or be overtly interested in her. Something is triggering it, and I feel like I'd be sticking my neck out. Something is saying "this is that situation, again.." and I shut down, and instead go into an alertness. I'd rather understand the triggers instead of take meds especially since it's so mild. I still function, it's not like I'm in a panic; it's enough to disrupt me when I want to talk to someone. What triggers that?

Because it's easy when clearly the girls like you. You can be dumb and the girl will still laugh at your jokes, be clumsy and the girls find it cute and so on. When the signs aren't as clear it's a completely different game.

Just make a move. If she rejects you, you can still talk to her as a co-worker, friend, etc., but gracefully move on with respect and find someone else. Don't burn bridges either. Maybe she may know someone who is single. Word of mouth still works. It will take the grey area out of everything too and you will know where you stand if you make a move and ask her out. If she says yes, perfect. If she rejects you, don't worry about it. You didn't lose anything anyways.

You will get better with time your not lost it's part of the process. The problem is that your playing it safe yet. I was there before try to risk it with people you don't know we'll. It gets you both to connect better.
