TL;DR young adult that isn’t meeting the right people at clubs/bars/dating apps, but too nervous to approach outside of these environments. I really want to fall in love again.

25M, graduated college in 2019 and moved immediately half way cross the country to a city/state I am not from, no family and knew no one with my (EX)GF of 4 years. I haven’t ever really dated as young adult in the real world without school or a part time job as a warm way to meet people and I’m not suuuper keen on dating at work now that I’m building a career unless I’m in love again. Nothing wrong with meeting girls at any of the above places, but my experience thus far is…meh. They aren’t the kinda person I’ve wanted to date because they have been either very boring, major red flags, etc.

I don’t have an issue socializing or anything, but my dilemma is that for some reason outside of these kinda places I’m WAY nervous to even go down the road of approaching a girl to strike up a conversation and ask her out. Not a liquid courage issue bc I don’t get drunk or drink more than a drink due to family history w alcohol. Any Advice?

Edit: to clarify, I’m wanting to date and seriously date. I was deeply in love in my last relationship and I want to feel that again. I’ve spent the last year+ reflecting on the relationship and myself/self improvement and I’m ready to date agin.
