So, I'm having some problems when it comes to chatting up women at clubs/bars and hope to get some advice on how to get past it...

I (normally) have no problems getting good eye contact and approaching, and once the conversation gets going I can easily keep a fun, flirty and interesting conversation going (given that the woman is doing her part to make conversation, if not I'll just move on) . I'm quite extroverted and usually quite chatty, and I'm not especially nervous around women. My problem is getting the conversation started after the initial "Hi, you look like someone I should get to know, my name is...". So the first 3-5 minutes where you get the conversation started.

I've tried different variations on "How's your night going?" (answer is usually something short like "good" which gives me fuck all to work with) or "So, how do you guys know each other?" if talking to a pair/group, but my experience is that it usually becomes a really dull and mundane chat. I think a lot of the women I approach are quite jaded and guarded - also I'm in Norway where people are usually quite reserved and hard to get to know in any context, not just in a seduction setting. Basically I'm struggling to get the convo started in a way that produces the necessary enthusiasm in the women to get the conversation off the ground to where it flows naturally. It's come to where it has begun to negatively impact my "inner game".

What are your best conversation starters past the introductory phrase to get women to engage in conversation?
