This happened to me a couple of months ago and I was writing about it for another long-form post, I thought it would be useful to see your responses.

I was with a girl one night who I was getting intimate with, we were kissing and she was wrapping her legs around me. This was after a long and frustrating dry spell and I decided that if she was down to go home with me then I wasn't going to let any bullshit stop this from happening. I went to get a drink and when I came back she told me a guy came over and said "Really, you are going home with that guy, come on, you are stunning". I didn't care and I continued as normal, then this guy takes a seat at our table and starts saying stuff like "Why are you being so anxious, there's no need to be" to me.

After a some time he says "Why are you with him, come on, look at him" to her while I was sat there and that was the final straw. I got up and took him aside, I told him that I knew what he was up to and he needed to get lost or we would have a problem. He started to argue and I literally said "You need to fuck off before I do something stupid" and I said it with total honesty, I was absolutely fuming and was very close to hitting this guy.

He left and I turned around, took her, started kissing her and started running my hands up her thigh ensuring this guy could see it all. This guy was willing to push me all the way to nearly hitting him in order to see if he could chase me off. Was it the correct response? in my opinion, yes. He purposely disrespected me in front of a girl I was clearly intimate with and left me no option but to escalate.

How would you have responded?
