Monday night I spontaneously decide to go to a local board game night, and what do you know there's a gorgeous young woman who is there for the first time, and I get to chat with her while playing games with her and other people. Awesome!

After 2 games she decides to leave, so I offer to walk her to her car. She accepts!

We walk and talk for a few minutes, she mentions seeing me next week for the game night again, I offer to exchange numbers, she accepts! She takes my number and dials me so I have hers. I mention an event that a neighbor is having the next night and she says she might be able to attend. I mention enjoying going on hikes and bike rides, she agrees and says maybe she can rent a bike. Wow! So we say goodbye and she says she hopes we can hang out again sometime.

So I get home, and all I can think about is her. So after an hour I text her how wonderful it was to meet her and invite her to dinner the next day at 6. That we can eat out or I, being an amateur chef, can make us something.

I then send a second text saying or if she'd prefer to just come to the event I mentioned earlier let me know and I'll send the address.

She responds late morning the next day, that she's sorry for not seeing the text earlier but she's going to be busy at work and probably can't make it to the event.

Hmm. No alternative meeting offered, no friendly let's just see each other on Monday. That's it. Not good.

So I wait an hour and reply an apology that's she's busy at work, and I'm busy the rest of the week too so maybe I'll see her Monday. A few min later I also text about remembering a friend of mine having a tandem bike available to borrow so that's maybe an option for the future too.

No reply. I think, well my last girlfriend at the beginning responded positively to the offer of a simple video call, so I send a text offering that.

No reply.

It's now been another few days, after consulting friends and family I text her this morning an apology for being if I was coming across too forward/friendly, I'm very extroverted and like to get to know people quickly which can throw people off. And ended it by wishing her a good week. With a: 🙂👍.

So, she'll probably never respond at this point. But it's okay, I need to learn to be slower. I may want to talk to them for hours, but they don't. I have to mirror them, and act relaxed about it, or it scares them away.

I'll succeed one of these times to find my next girlfriend. Onward and upward!
