So, you probably remember me from this post. I had made a post that I have now deleted, about how to date, and basically was asking for a step by step guide. From the well informed advice from the members of this community I decided to not look at a step by step guide. Two things that stood out to me was "Do you want 5000 page book that tells you how to date or do you wanna go with the flow?" And another that said "do you think Chris Pratt had a guide when he dated Angelina Jolie?" And hearing that really made me understood what dating was all about.

So I setup a coffee date for today, and we decided to meetup at a spot and walk to the Starbucks together. I was nervous, like you don't even know.

So we get to the Starbucks and order our coffee. I obviously pay for her, and we get our coffee and sit down. When we get to a table I have a little conflict. Do I sit next to her or opposite of her? Because I read this sub I know to sit next to her, but the thing is she sat down before me and didn't go to the next chair. And it would be awkward if I told her to get up and move down or try to squeeze past her, so I just sat opposite of her.

So we get to talking and to my surprise, I'm not as autistic as I thought I was! Like I was able to hold eye contact and even crack a few jokes. Like I was so surprised how natural it felt even after being an antisocial loser for so long. We was able to connect on a such a deep level. I was scared there was gonna be a 10 minute long awkward silence, but our conversation flowed like water. We spent like 2hrs talking and it like completely flew by.

We got done and i walked her back to her dorm like a true gentleman. All while still talking. We got to her dorm and she said this was a very nice date and that she had a good time talking to me. I said the same thing to her and we hugged. I wanted to kiss her but I had done no physical escalation because there was a table between us, and it would be awkward if I tried. She said to text her when I got back to my dorm and I did.

And that was the date, it went way better than I expected. I didn't know I had it in me all along. I was expressive, a good listener, very polite, and funny. Anybody that knew me would know that, that doesn't describe me at all. I'm just so excited that I'm making progress!!
