As I wait for the girl to reply to me whom I talked to a couple of days ago and thought would hang out today, I went to go workout after a week or so in my apartment gym. As I reached there, I saw a girl sitting by the pool. I quickly glanced at her and she looked at me. Kept walking, went inside the gym and started working out, hoping that she would be there by the time I was going to leave.

I finish my workout, feeling great, heart pounding due to lifting weights, about to leave the gym. As I start walking outside, I see her pack her bag and leave too. As she was struggling with the pool gate, I approached from behind in order to exit the rec area. She held the gate open for me and as she started to walk, I said "Excuse me, I saw you from the gym and wanted to say hi." She started smiling (cute smile with dimples) and so did I . She said "Oh Hi". I went, "Were you waiting for somebody there? I saw you sitting alone and thought you were about to tan or something" (realized it was a dumb thing to say later). She goes, "No I was just doing my homework". I went, "What grade you?". "I'm a Sophomore" she said. I said "Cool. I'm a Grad student. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out sometime?"

Then comes the dreaded line, "I actually have a boyfriend. But it was nice to meet you though". I said, "Nice to meet you. See ya" And I left. Later I thought I could have hit her with a "You only got one boyfriend?" LOL but I never did...

Questions: Is it true when girls say they have a boyfriend or are they just trying to reject you politely? How to handle a statement like that? How do you know if it's the truth or you should overlook that and keep pursuing the girl?
