So, I recently went on a nice lunch date that the friend of a Tinder match set up. It was a nice little Lebanese place about an hour where I live and we had lunch together. Unfortunately during our time talking and getting to know each other, the topic turned to politics, global events, and economics, topics that I enjoy and hell, I hold minors in the first two and have a good understandingof the third. Well, the date ended after lunch.. I had planned to take her to see Spider-Man: No Way Home since we're both Marval geeks, but she had work that night and wanted to get some sleep. I walked her back to her car and we parted ways after exchanging pleasantries and numbers and I texted her later that night saying that I enjoyed meeting her and hoped to go out again Looking back, I think I made things super awkward for her and the fact that she hasn't texted back in two days confirms it for me.

I think we had pretty good chemistry as we were both pretty geeky individuals and enjoyed a lot of the same things. But I can't help but feel my sperging on about politics and the like just killed it, especially from a first date perspective. It also doesn't help that I am horrible at small talk amd lack a lot of social skills due to my introverted nature.
