The same way you do anything while depressed. Fake it til you make it.

Sounds like a cliche, but practicing being better by simply doing actions as if you are can get you to a better place. All the while you aren't denying how you really feel, you're admitting to yourself and maybe a real confidant that you're faking it. Just make sure the confidants reactions will have no major impact.

Never heard this advice before, but what I would say is the answer is don't date at all until you're in a better place. You'll face way more rejection being depressed which will only contribute further to your depression.

nobody who is shitty and depressed is dating down except to feel better about themself/to be abusive to some extent. too much acting out of line/ungratefulness will just be repeating the cycle of shit behaviours why you arent worth anyones time and slowly degrading youself from a 6 to a 3. get smart act right and hold higher expectations for something you put your dick in
