Without knowing what your relationship is to the mutual friend, and mutual’s relationship to your target it is hard to answer this question

Doesn’t matter if it’s weird or not since you probably won’t see her again and have nothing to lose. Definitely go for it, maybe have the mutual friend ask her if they can give you the number.

Ask this same person who chats with her about her schedule or whatever so you can meet her in person. Maybe I’m old school but I just would never do this. I wouldn’t even ask a girl on a date via text tbh unless I absolutely had to just doesn’t seem sincere enough.
