It’s interesting that some chicks would not say “Not interested” from the get go but instead throw out all these funny codes just to be “nice”. Do they think they’re doing more good that way🤔?

They do that in public to avoid a scene, then they can push you away from a distance online. They feel safer that way.
Do cold approach, expect the cold shoulder. That's why you should only go in warm.

Could be just a coincidence or you're giving them bad vibes
After you get a number do you text them the same day? How much are u texting them ? Is she being open to talk or takes hours o days to respond?
I usually text them “Can’t wait to know you better😉” and sometimes they say “Me too” or “Awww🥰”. Sometimes they ask for my age and I give it to them or sometimes I give them a fake age and they’re like “Really?” possibly seeing through me. I also run into those that seem hesistant to talk on the phone and rather text. My approach is usually just “Hey can I get your number?” because I may not have time to build alot of rapport that moment

Your approach is okay, you get what you're looking for ( her number), however refrain of saying "cant wait to know you better ' or similar stuff, by saying that youre putting innecesary pressure in the convo because they don't know you,, you don't know if they're feeling the same.
when they ask questions don't give the information right away, play a little bit with it e.g -you how old are you? How old do I look? And then you give a little bit of clue, make it playful, In texting less is more, dont text her too much, text her just a little bit more than she is texting you, and finally when you feel like you've create some sorf of connection, you ask her out in a casual way.

How many times did this happen?
If it's one or two women, they may actually have plans to travel (it is almost the end of summer) or they're not interested. You won't know unless you find out.
