So, my ex and i have a kid, we been broken up for 2 years, been together 6 years before that.

I was emotionally abusive, and only realized it once i lost her.

Even after breaking up we had bad vibes and have been arguing.

But today we spend half a day together with our kid because he had a big event.

We all went out together and had a blast like back in the day when everything was good.

After i left, i was dumb enough to ask for a cup of coffee with a wink to suggest sex, because our kid had been tucked, she just replied "no" and i took the rejection with a happy reaction. Replied something like "it was worth a shot, sleep tight :)"

I know im grasping for straws here, but did me asking for a cup of coffee ruin all chances for the future ?

Im pining hard for this lady because i fucked up in the past, and i really want a good family for my kid.
