When I consider my mild successes with the opposite sex and what I’ve gleaned from friends and observations in the wild... it seems that perhaps the single most important element of courtship is being attractive... followed by being present.

Having someone’s undivided attention in 2021 is a beautiful thing and a rarity. No glancing at phones, no avoiding eye contact, no trying to recall game tactics and lines... just being open and transparent and letting your energies intertwine, to go all romantic on you.

And You can’t really fake it either, you actually have to take a curiosity in them. If you don’t have any inclination for that you probably shouldn’t bother talking in the first place
