So for a long time I had zero self esteem. Literally felt like I looked like an ogre. 4 months ago I became determined to improve myself. I have gained 20 pounds (I'm now 6 foot tall and 180 pounds) while working out, become more aware of my style, treated most of my acne (It's pretty stubborn but it's not bad acne), straightened my posture, and started to whiten my teeth (they weren't bad in the first place, I just want them to be a bit whiter).

I decided that I was going to make a change with my game and get girls I actually want. My last girlfriend was the cutest girl I have been with and I was told I could do way better in the looks department. So I made the choice to do something super uncomfortable.

For the last month I forced myself into environments that put me in a spot to converse with women, the mall, the bookstore, coffee shops, etc. But I had such horrible approach anxiety I was having a hard time even thinking about approaching someone, so I didn't.

The more I forced myself into these positions, the more I started to lose that feeling of dread, so much so that as of yesterday I was able to compliment three people. It was a huge accomplishment being able to muster up enough courage to do that. Today I have been doing the same thing, and it's getting easier as the approach anxiety starts to fade.

My goal is to be able to talk to anyone without being petrified, and I am just going to have to keep desensitizing myself. I have picked up valuable tips here and there on seddit and plan on updating you guys when I finally break through and reach my goal of talking to the girls I really like. I'm 21 btw.
