I have heard the advice that it's better to set up dates in places where you have already been or events you have done before. They say it is so that you won't get nervous and be more relaxed.

Although I can see the logic in it, spontaneous or ad-hoc dates seem to always have an element of fun and anticipation.

What do you guys think?
