I was originally going to post this somewhere else, but can't do that due to the format. However, I'm prepared to give it a shot here, and see if there are any tidbits of wisdom I can accumulate. I'm prepared to take your brutal honesty.

I'm an attractive male (i think), with a relatively low libido due to depression. I feel like I often find myself in situations where I am friends with a women, sometimes there is sexual tension, and sometimes there's not. On two occasions I can think of, the lady friend had a boyfriend.. Anyway, I'm friends with a girl and then she will try to seduce me, and mainly due to my not being in touch with my sexuality in a healthy fluid way (and sometimes due to me knowing the boyfriend), I reject them, but not in a rude way. I usually just play it off, or pretend I don't know what's going on, but we both know.

In one of these occasions the relationship became completely toxic (she was a co-worker), and it became very tense. More recently my neighbor who I was really enjoying hanging out with (and her boyfriend), has become cold and distant. These are just a couple examples.

In their defense, I think I might send mixed messages at times, just because I am a sexual being, who is not comfortable with his sexuality (messed childhood couples with porn usage has left me out of touch), but that's also the thing. My neighbor is an uber feminist and LGBT activist, and you'd think that she might pick up on the fact that I have my own issues regarding sex. Instead I feel like I'm being shunned, and she subtly rejects my friendship to even the playing field.

Do women get mean when rejected, or am I just an idiot? Also, how can I keep myself from getting worked up about it? I tend to crumble to women and their power games.
