Do a basic reversal. "And how do I know you aren't a murderer? That's why people talk and get to know each other."

This is a girl that I impulsively added on facebook and she responded well to it. Also fantastically attractive. I ended up going with a basic "how do I know you aren't, let's just go somewhere public" sort of response. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Don't entertain that thought pattern. Show her it's a silly thought by deflating it with humour. It accomplishes both nullifying her worries and killing the topic.

If it feels like legit fear: Reveal that you watch out for your safety as well. Tell her you respect how she feels. Tell her you want her to be comfortable, then suggest a very public time and location to meet.

If its semi fear, semi bullshitting: Joke about it. Accuse her of being one, tell her dont be ridiculous you wouldnt bring your ax for the first date, etc.

Ussually its a combination of the two
