During lectures, I just go and sit next to people, talk about the lecture's subject for a bit and discuss a few things during the break

Be yourself, talk about what seems okay, and discuss during the break what you want to. However, stay on the surface of subjects: you can't immediately ask someone what their political preference is, for example.

A friend and I would just sit or walk in busy areas, chatting with each other, and then invite random people into our conversations. We'd get phone numbers, etc naturally because we would be inviting people to join us other places. Eventually you break through this barrier of knowing no body to knowing everybody. At least, everybody knows you or of you. Then random people you don't know come up to say they've heard of you.

Each new person has a social circle and they all begin sharing you with their friends.

You basically become a social circle jumper. Which interestingly....is a role that women typically have naturally(which I learned relative to a language and gender course).

For men, this isn't the norm.
