This might not be helpful but it's honest. Just do what you like. Keep asking for different cuts until you get what you are looking for. You might not know what that is but at least you would enjoy it. To change for others, Change for yourself!

Go to a good salon and ask them to make you look good. Have them take a picture after and then use that.

When you get your hair cut try out different products for styling. You can also find a picture of a hairstyle that you like, save it and then show it to the barber. I used to do that when I was trying out different things.
