who monitors it? who has the floor at any given time? Sounds like it will just become a clusterfuck of people asking how to get the "one", talking about how stupid we are for buying into the marketing, and all the good stuff will just get lost in the shuffle.

IMHO, an IRC channel wouldn't be bad. I don't see a need for anything fancier than that.

Important thing is that we set up one and only one so everyone uses the same medium. Doesn't have to be the best one, just make sure there's only one choice.

I could set up some 'trial' vent server in about 5 minutes if you want. The problem with that is Vent limits the number of people you can have in a 'trial' server. Last time I checked you cant get the full version of vent 'freely' (but it was years ago last time I tried).
