I've read and posted to seddit quite a bit, but I'm pretty sure this is the first thread I started. Since I'm a black guy that goes for white girls often, that's why I drew my attention to African-Americans from the title. I hated to do that, since race should never be a barrier, but thought it was needed. So before you downvote, I am not a racist--I like and find beauty in all races. But it is more difficult for minorities to get with races in the majority...sadly. And everyone says I'm "whitewashed". Race shouldn't be an issue, but...yeah...whatever.
As for me, all of my friends are not black...they're white, Indian, Asian....whatever. The point is that I'm usually the only black guy in the group, and, as a friend of mine bluntly put it the other day when I was whining about my lack of success...I should realize that most girls that those in our group go for will likely not be into black guys. But hell, that's how it is for me in general--though that may be true. OK, it is....lol.
One thing I've always done, when my hair is grown out, is stick a pick in there. I have a couple of picks; I usually sport one that has a "black power" fist for the handle. I usually stick it in to 1) get a laugh and 2) screen out the girls that don't find black guys attractive.
In the case of tonight (we were at the piano bar in town), I got in, went to the bar, and found a really cute blonde looking at my hair. I teased her for not knowing what was in my hair, and though she knew it was a pick, she loved it. We talked for awhile, got us drinks, introduced her to my friends, and went back to her table only to find (I'm 70-80% sure anyway), that she already had a guy she was sorta seeing seriously, so I chose not to press my luck.
(Off topic, and I'm sure it's been said here and at every other seduction forum: DO NOT BUY GIRLS DRINKS. They were $1 at this venue, but even though I know this rule I still break it sometimes when I think it's ok to break. But it never is. EVER. If anything, prove to her that she should buy you a drink. I pulled this off once at least...)
Anyway, I heard through friends that a buddy in our group thought I should get rid of it. So I did for the rest of the night. But if my hair's long enough, I use the pick as a "screener". That is, if a girl just isn't into black guys, I feel like they'd try to end conversation sooner. Or, as the case is with girls from suburbia, they just wouldn't talk to me in the first place. I've been told this before and am usually stubborn, but I can't say how much a pick in my 'fro can affect my success rate since I don't keep track that intensely.
I'm near certain my friends aren't racist, but maybe they're right. Even if I don't embarrass them (which in my high school days was my concern, since I was immature and would call anyone a racist, lol), maybe it is unattractive. Or maybe I shouldn't need it at all. After all, I dress "normally": my attire tonight = purple Express polo, dark, normal-fitting Aeropostale shoes, and white K-Swiss shoes. I have little "baggy" clothing in my wardrobe. A couple of FUBU T-shirts, and a RocaWear hoodie, but that's it...and I rarely wear them.
So is the pick a good idea or bad idea? And what advice would those, of any race, have for those who go for white girls? And is me posting this just me making a big deal out of nothing?
