the ping is bullshit. No inside joke. Just making dinner and felt like texting her. I never drink white wine anyway, I always drink red. But the point of the ping was to just illicit a response out of her because I hadn't talked to in weeks. She didn't know I was home making dinner alone. For all she knew I was at a fancy upscale restaurant.

the 9:30 to 6:30 thing... Well yeah, it's upbrupt. I wanted to head home after work and shower and get ready. I live in nyc and take the subway so it takes a while to get back and forth. I ubruptly changed it to 6:30 because I know it's closer to the time we both get out of work. We also met at this bar and both know that happy hour is 6pm - 8pm we both love that place. So I went to the 'right after work' date.

good feedback and it's something I'll keep in mind. But that's the logic behind that whole text. Either way it worked. And if it works, then it works.
