Apparently I'm intimidating to women. I always thought it was a good thing, that It means that the find me attractive enough to be out of their league. Like you know, how men act around really attractive women by being awkward and nervous. Sometimes I complement women (store clerks, bartenders and so on) on something that I like about them and they really appreciate it.

So yeah, you might think I came here to brag, but no, there's a problem.

I was in LTR and didn't think much of it, but since now I'm free, I started playing the field. I asked out couple of girls who were acting all shy and nervous when I talked to them, and they both said no. Though I was confused, I was ok with it. One of them changed her appearance after that, she started dressing all nice and wearing good perfume. I was glad that maybe it was me, who was the reason to this, until she started to act all weird. Like she would start blatantly flirt with a mr. nice guy in front of me and get angry for me not reacting to this. Well, she's crazy, and I don't go for crazies. But what's her problem, if she wanted something why couln't she just say yes to me or try to talk at least?

So there's a new girl that I like, I met her a week ago, we talked and she acted normal, not awkward, charming even. Next day I was talking to our mutual friend and she came to us to talk about something with the friend and she ignored me completely, she didn't even say hi. What the hell? I thought that she wants me to initate, so I did. Next time I met her I asked her some personal questions, she was smiling and shyly avoided looking me in the eyes. So I asked her out, and she said no, giving some bullshit reason, saying that she doesn't date guys from the same uni.

I don't understand. Am I not that attractive? Or is it their insecurity? Is it normal to be rejected a lot by women who are attracted to you? Can someone share their experience on the matter because I'm completely confused.

I'm not a big, muscular guy, so I don't think that they are intimidated by my physical appearance. I wouldn't call myself pretty face either. I mostly in read-only and never post to reddit, so don't mind me having freshly created account.

tl;dr: I think that women are attracted to me because they are act nervous and shy, but really like my attention when I give it. When I ask them out they reject me and sometimes act all weird after that.
