Earlier this week I met with a group of friends (2 guys/3 girls) for a casual dinner/drink. In this group is a girl I am interested in (lets call her L) and we are getting pretty comfortable around one another. During dinner L has a quiet exchange with one of her girl friends, which leads to a conversation about how I apparently look a lot like L's father. Of course this is a rather awkward topic considering everyone at the table knew L and I were into one another.

The girl who brought it up tried to save said comment by saying L's dad was a good looking guy, but I assume some damage was done to my image. Unless L has some "daddy issues" I assume she is not the type of girl to want to date/or sleep with someone who looks like her father.

I believe my response was pretty weak, since I said I wanted to see how he looked (genuinely curious), but since they could not produce an image, I just moved the topic to something a little more normal. Anyways, the rest of the night went well and there seems to be no real difference in how L and I interact, but hearing that I look like her father was a bit shaky.

TL;DR I look like the dad of the girl I want to date

How would anyone here handle this?
