this of you who are accomplished in other fields taht required self motivation and discipline will know it is quite easy to stagnate and not progress without some good habits and intangible qualities: witness American Idol or America's Got Talent. and heck, going "out" is easier and more accessible than picking up a guitar.

i ask you, if you have never really gotten past the initial approach and really just wasted your time over the last 3 years -- what do you do?
this isn't some bitter never got laid post either. i know i got issues and that i never get past the opening because of ME, it's essentially my approach to life.
