Forget the advice here about waiting N days, it's REALLY bad advice. Strike while the iron is hot. Here's my standard tactic:

get a girl's number
I immediately either: text her with something like "good meeting you tonight, see you soon unless you are [mild heckle like 'admitted to hospital for overdrunkiness tonight']", I don't include my name unless I'm certain she doesn't know my name. OR I call her if she is standing right next to me and it's not super loud, and I make a funny conversation like "help there's this girl [her] who is stalking me and won't leave me alone, what should I do!"
The very next day, usually mid afternoon, I text her and say something like "hey how's your week going? come and meet me out for a drink on wednesday!" I try to set the date up for no more than 3 days in advance.

So typically, I'll meet a girl on Friday night, text her that night, text her the next day for a date, and go on our first date on Monday or Tuesday night.

Hope that helps. I have a VERY low flake rate with this tactic.

Next time, text her right after you part ways with something funny/teasing/relevant about your interaction. Include your name...end it with "- [name]". This is good as she most likely won't have your name/number in her phone yet, and it gives her a way to remember your name so that when you text her next time, she isn't all "who is this?".

Then text her again a few days later (3, typically) and see if she wants to meet up during the week (have a plan already...don't just ask her if she wants to hang out).

I would avoid calling until you guys get to know each other a little better.

When did you get it? Wait 3 or 4 days before calling. Call at a time that no one is busy (usually I'd guess 830pm). Don't leave a message the first time calling.
