hey seddit, this idea is exactly why I was criticized on reddit when I made a sympathetic post about women being harassed @ TwoXChrom and got banned, and the subsequent complaint @ MensRights that was raided by TwoXChrom members (notice the up/down votes).

Thank you throwaway703 for having a professor explain the psychology behind it.

I learned some important lessons:

Women see advice as a threat to their life, akin to harassment or victim blaming, and they will wipe your rapport clean and deem you evil.
Men see advice as a way of self-improvement. They want recognition when they tell a positive story, and feedback/advice when they tell a negative story.
Feminists are everywhere in society.
Not all women think alike or are the same, there were supporters of me as well.
Women are threatened when strangers talk to them.
Women use emotions, assumptions, and feelings when conversing, they don't usually care about logic, evidence, statistics.
When women tell a story, they don't want you to comment or give feedback. They just want you to say "oh that's awful.", "cool story bro", or "I don't care..." They want affirmation and confirmation that they always do the correct action regardless of whether it's a positive/negative story.
Don't even hint at arguing with women, you cannot win.

you could take that entire post and use it as an opinion opener (with some slight modifications).

"Hey ladies, quick question. A couple of months ago blablabla women men lblabla empathy compassion. But I thought that was total BS! Do women really feel that way?"
