19 year old male posting about a 19 year old female, btw.

So I met this girl on New Year's Eve and spoke very briefly to her (as i had to leave) but sucessfully got her number. Since then I've texted her a few times (first time was a day after, because apparently I like making myself seem a little desperate/i think it makes me seem like a more genuine guy) and had a few somewhat encouraging conversations on facebook. During one of those conversations she recommended her favourite book and I got a copy of it; planning on reading it within the next week then planning on using it as a conversation starter and i've decided i'll ask her out to a cafe and maybe a movie in this conversation. I realise I'm not going finish it before this weekend is out and figure that I should try and schedule our date for next saturday (12th of february) in this case. Valentine's day is two days after, and assuming that all goes well, should I ask her out for another date for V Day, or is that too soon? I wouldn't make a huge deal out of it, just thought it might be sweet to make sure she doesn't have a potentially lonely valentines day =]

Any generic/specific advice? Does it sound like a sound plan? What could make it better?!

If I did this wrong, first post, so go e-z please.

TL, DR: Had kinda promising e-conversations after getting her number, want to force the issue of getting into her life (in a gentlemanly way, of course). If our first date is on the 12th of Feb is asking her out for valentines day, two days later, too quick or is it acceptable?
