Background: I'm a 19 year old college kid, virgin. I have social skills and have read PUA tactics, but I'm usually too shy or apathetic to put them to use at parties. Last night was different...and it paid off like I could never have expected.

At around 11:45 or so me and my roomate went to a friend's party for our college's radio station. There were a shit ton of people there, most of them already drunk or high (I had one shot in me). I didn't go in there trying to hook up, but it's always on my mind considering I haven't had much luck in college (no farther than making out with 2 girls so far). As I was meeting people, I found myself in a circle of people including an incredibly good looking girl. My gears started turning, and I introduced myself and talked to her for a little bit. No tactics, no games, just talking. Though I did remember to maintain good eye contact.

Soon enough she and her friends moved on to another part of the house, and I stayed put watching some drunk people make fools of themselves. I milled about the house, not really motivated, until I found the same girl downstairs listening to a band play with a bunch of other people. I said to myself "Fuck It" and started talking to her again. She was playful, so I became playful as well. I did the push and pull, acting alpha and alternating between intense eye contact and gazing off into the distance. I played the mysterious card by not telling her my name or what my year was, and I made her guess both of those. At one point she put me on the spot - she sensed I wasn't the typical outgoing alpha male, so she told me to do something crazy and offensive. I froze. I had no idea what to do. My mind was racing, but I couldn't do a thing. I changed the subject, but I could still tell I fucked up.

Eventually my friends came down, and I challenged them to a dance off, asking her to be a judge. It didn't go very well; it lasted about 2 minutes before she lost interest. I decided to cut my losses and headed upstairs for more drinks.

20 minutes passed, and I hadn't seen her. I talked with my friends, still thinking about her, but remembering to make it seem like I wasn't trying to get with her like every single other guy was at the party (literally. she had about 4 or 5 guys around her at all times.) I saw her chatting with a bunch of guys, so I made eye contact, smiled, and joined the group. I played it cool, not trying to one up the other guys, and mostly listening. I made eye contact again, smiled, and left in about 5 minutes into the dance room. I really don't know what I was thinking at this point, as the drinks were starting to kick in, but I wanted to keep the mysterious/non-clingy game going.

Soon enough she made her way into the room I was in. I decided it was my time to make a move. Without saying a word, I held out my hand to her. She took it. I led her to a hallway away from the crowds and told her we were going to play a game I had just made up in my head - one compliment, one dislike. I told her she was incredibly attractive, but I didn't like how she wanted me to "perform" for her. She told me I was a great guy, but I "fucking think too much." With that, she said she had to find her friend and left. Game over. I sulked in the hallway, mad at myself for fucking up in some way, thinking what I could have done differently.

All of a sudden she was back. It was a complete surprise. "I didn't think you'd be back" I said. She shrugged. I got ballsy and asked for her number. She gave it to me, although she said she's a bad texter and don't get mad if I dont text you back. With the confidence of the number, I told her I would tell her my name (she still didn't know) if she let me kiss her. She paused, made no expression. Then she said she didn't like that I wanted something in return. At this point I went out on an existential limb and told her we're just particles of dust in the universe; the chance of us meeting at this point is one in a trillion billion million (I had no idea what I was talking about but it kept the conversation going). She said that's random, like my life. I asked her if she wanted her life to be even more random, and kissed her. She reciprocated very well. I took her hand and brought her into an empty bedroom where we made out for a good 5 minutes. She was very much into me (she was a bit drunk too, but still). As I was going for second base her friend interrupted and said the bus was leaving. Not knowing how to end things, I kissed her and said I had to leave too. With that I left and walked to the bus stop with my friends. I was too ecstatic/shocked/spellbound to realize she was walking to the bus too. Anyways, I noticed on the walk to the bus that her group of friends was about 20 feet behind us...I decided not to go back. I got on the bus and she sat opposite me; to my surprise she was holding hands with another guy. I was confused and slightly devastated, but I played it cool and didn't really look at her and just talked to my roomate. My stop was before hers, so before I left the bus I made eye contact and smiled again.

Sorry that was long, but for an inexperienced guy it was an incredible whirl-wind rollercoaster of an experience. I don't know what to do next though...
