In general how should a man's looks affect his game?

Good looks will help you open sets & get IOIs.

Bad looks just mean you have to become a master of opening, plowing through and disarming bitch shields.

Here's the big secret: good looking guys often use it as a crutch and never develop rock solid game because of it.

After the first few minutes of the interaction, looks become less important than your personality.

So don't sweat it too much.

looks do affect game. no matter what a guy looks like he should always do his best to look good. some women find me attractive and some dont (damn those fucking whores, anyways) but when i go out to get a cup of coffee or to a nightclub i always dress to impress. i might dress in a 3 piece business suit (which is rare where I live) or i might have another great outfit on. by dressing well i am sending a signal that i am a high-asset. cloths are part of the package you are trying to sell.

There is this this old saying: "Men feel how they dress, women dress how they feel". In my experience, a good dress can provide some ego-boost and temporarily improve your confidence. But there is another, I guess more important, aspect. A man who is able to dress himself well and take care of his looks can sub-communicate autonomy, high self-esteeem, resourcefulness. My few cents.

Looks are like a cover of a book. Just because the first page is pretty, it doesn't mean that the story's good.

If you have an engaging story, people will be compelled to read it.

I"m a relatively good looking guy with okay game.

Looks help you make that good initial first impression and sometimes girls will hit on you. Easy to get make outs and general flirting. However, because my game is okay, I can't capitalize on the attention I get. Girls are sometimes intimidated by me, sometimes freezing when I talk to them. It doesn't make it any easier for me to practice my game when they keep on shifting their eyes all the time, stammer and expect me to make all the moves when I'm clueless on what i'm doing or if I'm doing it right. They are also easier on you when you say something wrong.

I use it as a crutch sometimes because girls approaching you makes life a little easier but I do not want to rely on that. Back in high school, girls have told my sister that they thought I was cute until I opened my mouth. (lol ouch x.x) That being said, looks help but they are not everything when you're trying to seduce a girl. You have to know what to do (which I don't) in order to charm them. People also assume you're good with girls just because you're good looking which is definitely not true for me. I know a lot of people who are less good looking then me who can score some hot girls.

I'm working on my game now and hopefully with practice I can have rock solid game.

Dress like you're handsome, act like you're handsome. Also, unless you were born with some physical deformity you can always make your self look more attractive.

For guys like me, without a whole lot of game, I think looks matter a great deal in getting girls to open up to you at a club. Your image is just NOT some girls' type sometimes, so don't get too concerned about the rejections that result from it. Just open.

And even if you have solid game, you still might not get every girl if you're ugly, short, a certain ethnicity, too fat, too skinny, too buff, too old, too young, etc.: for example, I suspect that some younger girls might not like Ozzie cuz he's old, even though he HAS solid game. Superficial shit does drive social interactions, but there's plenty of fish who do like guys despite subpar looks.

My suspicion is: You can make up for it with what TofuTofu said. But I also would expect a shit load of work on game, to overcome these disadvantages.
