For those who don't remember the original post, I developed feelings for a good friend of mine... When I told him, he rejected me, despite having had feelings for me in the past. Everyone suggested that I make a move, because many guys freak out and say dumb things in these situations....

Well, recently, he had a birthday, and we drank, and we talked, and we broke the friendship barrier (we did not have sex, but it was damn close). It was awesome, and it felt so right- like why hadn't we been doing that all along?

Anyway, it turns out that he rejected me basically as a result of two things, which I figured out and confronted him about. The first is low self-esteem; he couldn't believe that I was actually interested and assumed I would change my mind. Turning me down was safe because he wouldn't risk getting hurt. Secondly, he was being spiteful, because a while back when I got out of my LTR, I hooked up with a guy that I kind of liked but in the end knew I didn't really want to be with, and not only did this sort of ruin his opinion about me, but he was jealous and upset after having been interested in me for so long.... Both very understandable points.

So I apologized to him for hurting his feelings, as I hadn't realized until just now how much those things bothered him. I also pointed out that I was very serious about my interest in him, as months had gone by and I still thought about it. (I did still see other people during this time, for the record)... In the end, he told me it was all forgiven, and we made up. And it was great.

... Now I am just worried about where to go from here. I want to just enjoy it and take it as it goes, but since I have never really done this before, I have no way to gauge anything... I don't want to be too clingy or expectant, but I also really enjoy our time together and since we have known each other for so long, it just feels so easy.

TL;DR Fell for a friend who rejected me. Realized it was due to insecurity and talked it through/made a move. Now we are really happy, but I am nervous on how to proceed.

EDIT: Got a boyfriend. Nailed it. .... No, seriously, we had sex last night. :D
